Our Beginnings

How it All Started

Zack and Linda found themselves in the challenging situation of caring for their ailing parents in their 80′s. Neither parent wanted to move to a nursing home, but Zack and Linda experienced difficulty in finding dependable elder care. The other siblings lived out of states, and the primary caregiver role landed with them. They helped when Linda’s father was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, and wanted to continue living at home. After his passing, Linda’s mother experienced failing health, coupled with progressive dementia, and Linda’s mother eventually transferred to independent living and then to a nursing home where her health steadily declined until her passing at 90 years of age. Zack’s father was diagnosed with cancer in his late 80′s, and wanted to stay in the comfort of his home with his wife. Zack’s mother, as the primary caregiver, was under great stress and suffered a heart attack during this time caring for his Dad. We can relate to what you are experiencing and we are here to support your family.

This ongoing experience for 10 years, ultimately led Zack and Linda to create a licensed, insured, and bonded senior caregiving company, Approved In Home Care, provides personalized senior care for the elderly and those in need who wish to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible. We also provide service to clients in nursing homes, rehab centers, and senior living facilities.

Their company is licensed by the State of Texas for in-home health services, and offers service in Dallas, Denton, Collin, Grayson and Rockwall counties. Most recently, they have created an exciting alliance with area health care organizations to help citizens who are in similar situations to that which Zack and Linda experienced with their own parents.

Zack McConnell & Linda McConnell

We are passionate about serving you. Our owners want to make a difference, and are very hands on to assist you with the utmost of care. As you know, Zack and Linda McConnell (pictured above) are the owners and operators of Approved In Home Care, a quality North Texas based care giving services company. For the past three decades, Zack and Linda have been successful independent business owners in North Texas, caring for others.

Zack and Linda have also been involved in a number of North Texas based non-profit organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the Alzheimer’s Association, and Kid Zone ministry at High Pointe Church of Christ in McKinney. They have raised 3 wonderful children, one who worked in the White House for Dick Cheney, the other pursuing Medical School and mission trips, and the last working toward becoming an Eagle Scout.
